Opening of the mural “Dreams, remember?!”

For Children’s Day 2023, Caritas Poltava created a mural near a children’s hospital to improve the emotional state of children undergoing treatment. The painting of the wall, about 200 meters long, was carried out by the employees of the charitable foundation.

Caritas Poltava knows how to turn dreams into reality. The project, which originated in the distant 2020, saw the light of day today!

A team of three dozen people worked on the creation of the mural, and for more than a week, day and night, they painted the wall with facade waterproof paint. Elements of children’s dreams were depicted on the mural.

The project was coordinated by Inna Sen, who approved the sketch and solved a number of practical problems.

The children drew their dreams, and I took that as a basis. We worked in the evening. We came here at ten o’clock in order to use the projector, when it was getting dark, to transfer all these drawings that I had already created to this wall, we traced the contours, and then in the afternoon we came to work as a team precisely in color,” says Inna .

The goal of the project is to improve the emotional state of children undergoing treatment.

The goal of this project is happy emotions, happy dreams of our children. The main element of this mural is a balloon, which symbolizes the fulfillment of dreams,” says Alla Rakovetska, project manager of the “Caritas Poltava” charity fund.

Also, an important positive aspect of the created mural is the increase in attractiveness and aestheticization of the urban space near the hospital: the colorful drawings enlivened the monotonous space of a typical building in a residential area. Such an image made it comfortable, friendly for the visual perception of not only children, but also adults.

In the process of creation, the team received a lot of positive and encouraging comments from ordinary ordinary people who, while walking in the evenings, watched the work of the charity fund workers.

I’m very glad that such a mural, such a bright picture appeared, because it’s much more fun for a child to be in the hospital,” says the mother of a patient of the Poltava Children’s Hospital, Anna Mosienko.

The official opening took place on June 9, 2023. Everyone was invited to the holiday.
