“Education in emergency situations”. Gingerbread houses

The optional “Culinary Mastery” is gaining momentum for the holidays. This time, pupils of the “Education in Emergency Situations” project together with our teachers made gingerbread houses. It was beautiful and delicious.

We are convinced that childhood should be joyful and sweet. Thanks to our permanent partners Street Child and Bright Kids Charity, we continue to organize optional classes for children, where we teach them practical and professional skills.

Gingerbread houses are an invariable attribute of the New Year and Christmas holidays. On the eve of Christmas, the pupils of the Caritas Poltava children’s center decided to thoroughly prepare for the holiday and make aromatic delicacies.

There were many people who wanted to take part in making gingerbread goodies, because everyone wanted to feel like an artist and create a unique gingerbread creation.

It is interesting that there are many varieties of this confectionery. Some craftsmen try to move away from the classic template of a gingerbread house and bake a house that is a copy of a famous architectural building. Our children decided that they will take four rectangles as a basis – a gingerbread for the walls and four figures for the roof, and decorate each with its own pattern.

All the details of the house were fastened together with glaze. The decorating process took the most time. Here, the children’s artistic talent came in handy, because everyone loves to draw since childhood, so decorating a gingerbread product became the most enjoyable thing for them.

Ready-made gingerbread houses were appetizing, interestingly decorated, and most importantly, made with heart. Their love for culinary arts and the creative nature of our children made them unique. Now they will have a delicious symbol of Christmas and positive emotions.

Our children are the brightest sunshine!
