Free psychologist consultation

As part of the project “Humanitarian protection of people affected by the conflict in Ukraine” with the support of Caritas Österreich and @Nachbar in Not, every IDP, as well as local people who are in difficult life circumstances, have the opportunity to receive a free consultation of an adult psychologist.

The main work of a psychologist at Caritas Poltava is aimed at psychosocial support, both individual and group.

The project psychologist provides assistance to all IDPs who applied and filled out questionnaires and registration cards. The number of sessions for individual counseling is from 6, if necessary, it is extended to 12. Or, depending on the requests and the condition of the beneficiary, there may be less than 6 sessions.

The methods of art therapy (sand therapy, isotherapy, tissue therapy, fairy-tale therapy, mandala therapy, photo therapy, music therapy), catathymic-imaginative psychotherapy, gestalt therapy, techniques using metaphorical associative maps, etc. are used for individual counseling.

The main problems with which a psychologist will help to cope: anxiety, depressive moods, panic attacks, fear of war, difficulties of adaptation in host communities, loss of relatives, loss of the meaning of life.
